Proposed Changes to Designated Tournament Draw Size

The Junior Competition Committee(JCC) of the SCTA is considering limiting the draw size of its Level 2 "Designated" Tournaments. The proposed limit would be 96 for the four Designated Tournaments that have National points, and a draw size of 64 for the other Designated Tournaments. Doubles would now be included in all designated tournaments. The JCC has prepared schedules showing the entry cut-off point for all age brackets for 2012 and 2013 Designated Tournaments(2013 year to date). Please "click here" to read more, and see the cut-off schedules.

Tournament Players Must Enter Contact Information Each Time They Register For A Tournament

Attention tournament players!! Due to a new policy from the USTA legal department, tournament directors will no longer have access to phone numbers and email addresses of tournament participants unless the player has entered this information when they register for the tournament.

This means that if a player does not enter their phone and email information, a tournament director cannot contact them for any reason... including withdrawals, defaults, byes, rain delays etc...

The only way to insure that the tournament director has this information is for players to enter it when registering. The SCTA appreciates all of our tournament player's cooperation with this issue so that tournaments can continue to communicate necessary information to you. Contact Annette Buck (Adult Tournaments) at Abuck@SCTA.usta.com or Darren Potkey (Junior Tournaments) at DarrenP@SCTA.usta.com with questions.
