The Southern California Tennis Association would like to thank the LA84 Foundation for 26 years of sponsoring the
SCTA NJTL Youth Tennis Program.

Simply stated, LA84 Foundation SCTA NJTL (formerly the AAF SCTA/NJTL) gets kids and courts together. The program strives to instill a love for the game of tennis in economically disadvantaged children, and provide them with an opportunity to play, compete and to develop good sportsmanship.
The NJTL encourages the private sector and the public sector to lend a hand and work together to help the organization accomplish its goals.
Founded in 1969, the NJTL was the brainchild of former tennis champs Arthur Ashe and Charlie Pasarell, along with businessman Sheridan Snyder. Its goal was simple: to encourage kids -- with a specific focus on urban kids -- to try the game of tennis.
The LA84 Foundation SCTA/NJTL Youth Tennis Program is featured in a new YouTube video. Thanks to the LA84 Foundation for 26 years of funding. This program provides boys and girls with the opportunity to learn and play tennis at local parks throughout Southern California. The fall session of NJTL will be starting October 10 – Nov. 19, 2011.
Here in Southern California, the funding we receive from LA84 Foundation enables us to run our SCTA NJTL program at 33 locations year-round, in three sessions: Fall, Winter and Spring. Each program lasts six weeks, and offers 24 hours of instruction with a special activity after each session. In addition to the three year-round sessions, we also have a summer program that begins each July at 150 locations throughout Southern California.
The benefits of the LA84 Foundation SCTA/NJTL are as follows:
- T-shirt
- Certificate of Participation
- 24 hours of Instruction
- Special Activity Days & Hit 4 Prizes
Participants will be assessed a $7.00 registration fee for the year-round program and a $10.00 fee for the summer program, to help cover some of the program expense. However, scholarships are available if needed.
- No child is ever turned away from the LA84 Foundation SCTA/NJTL .
