Coached by Nelson Emery, the Ventura College women’s tennis team recently completed one of its most successful seasons in school history. Four of the top six players on the team were recently recognized by the Interscholastic Tennis Association as California JUCO All-Americans.
Julianna Bacelar, Sonia Landeros and Jessica Worring were each tabbed for their play in singles and doubles and Layne Gallimore in doubles.
Other California women’s players selected include: Robin Zhou (De Anza, singles), Chun Young Shin (El Camino, singles), Mardee Littrell (Palomar, singles), Jeanette Losaria (Saddleback, singles); Sophie Angner (Santa Barbara City, singles and doubles), Talia Hudson (Santa Barbara City, doubles), Juliana Nelkin (Santa Monica, doubles), Criss Rodriguez (Santa Monica, singles and doubles), Daria Kulbikova (Sierra, singles and doubles), Brooks Baldinger (Mission, singles) and Jessica Miller (Sierra, doubles).
