If you think you can’t get the sort of thrills that come from being part of a team while playing tennis, you’re wrong. USTA Jr. Team Tennis is all about capturing the unique joys of playing on a team while playing a singularly great sport. Jr. Team Tennis stages organized team matches in a friendly, laid-back environment. Here, it’s all about having a good time; the emphasis is on fun, fitness, and the social benefits of the game. It’s a great way to develop your game and develop new friendships at the same time.
Jr. Team Tennis offers kids the opportunity to play on teams in leagues that emphasize fun, fitness and friends. Leagues match players of similar age and ability using the Junior National Tennis Rating Program. Teams play in one of three divisions (Quickstart, Intermediate, or Advanced) depending on their age and skill level and face off against other teams in their area.
Kids get involved in a healthy, active sport and they stay involved, because they’re part of a team. As a result, they learn more than tennis, they learn the importance of teamwork while having a ball with their friends.
In tennis terminology, that’s known as a "perfect match.’’
