"As a parent I wanted to provide a low cost way for my son and his friends to participate in the program. We don't belong to a club, so we use the local park courts for our practices and matches. I am the team captain, but the other parents try to help when they can. At the beginning of the season we determined what our costs would be (balls, court time, SCTA fees) and divided it up between the number of kids. Being a part of the Team Tennis program has been a wonderful experience."
"We don't have a lot of kids at our facility. The adults are always on the courts, but there was always a slow time during Saturday afternoon. We decided to give the program a try and it has been a huge success! The parents that are always on the court have time to sit and watch their kids play and it has attracted kids to our club (and their families) which otherwise may have never have been interested. I am giving a lot of junior lessons now, and my club manager is thrilled with the overall impact this program has had on the club."
"We use all of the National events this program offers as a huge incentive for the kids to work hard during the local league season. These events give the kids something to strive for. I coach several teams, one of which is a high school team. When the boys are not in season for their school team, Team Tennis is great practice and preparation for the next school season."
"We have always run junior clinics and they have always been very sucessful. We use the USTA Jr. Team Tennis program as a way to enhance our junior program and for an additional fee, the kids that are already taking part in the weekly clinics get to take part in the weekly matches. This works especially well with the kids that need more than just a lesson. It gives them an incentive to work hard in the clinics each week, and put what they learned to use. These kids have improved tremendously from this match play experience."
