Join the huge, new industry program to attract more people to the game…become a Tennis Welcome Center

As part of the USTA’s new  campaign, any tennis facility meeting certain basic requirements may register to become a Tennis Welcome Center…and benefit from the largest national marketing campaign ever created to attract new players to the game.

Joining the network of Tennis Welcome Centers will not change your facility’s name or operations. What it will do is list your facility on TennisWelcomeCenter.com. This USTA website enables potential players to enter their zip code and get directed to the introductory instructional programs nearest to them. In other words, the site guides potential new players in your area directly to your facility.

As part of a Herculean effort to introduce the great game of tennis to the masses, the USTA, TIA, and other industry partners have unleashed a huge national marketing campaign to usher in and support the Tennis Welcome Center program. The campaign includes:

• 2,500,000 Tennis ball cans (special label)
• 2,500,000 Starter racquets (hangtag)
• 1,000,000 Tennis shoe box (inserts)
• 2,000,000 flyer blitz
• 1,000 + banners in sporting good stores
• 3,000 banners in facilities
• 10,000 posters, plus flyers
• 500 + Tennis Channel TV ads, plus others
• Ads in tennis and non-tennis publications
• U.S. Open 2004 TV ads and promotions
• National multi-media marketing campaign, including print and TV

Becoming a Tennis Welcome Center will bring a new level of exposure to your facility, and will assist you in growing the game in your community. To qualify, a tennis facility must meet a few basic requirements:

• Be open to the public with a published telephone number
• Have an affordable introductory multi-session Tennis Program offered
    year round (or "in sessions")
• Promote the "social experience" (round robins, leagues, etc.)
• Maintain at least one certified teaching pro on staff (preferred); tennis
instructors must have experience and understand how to teach
    beginners
• Display Tennis Welcome Center banner
• Be willing to put effort into your own local marketing campaign
